I have been watching this message board for months,Who is going to be brave and pass on some news, About dana holding corp plans,I understand you are like dogs must drag your asses across the carpet,Don't disappoint your unions and speak up, I will just pass on some, Lay off or lost of jobs 5000 EMPLOYEE'S,TEN PLANTS TO BE CLOSED,CEO OF SIX MONTHS IS QUITING FIRST OF THE YEAR,I''m still waiting for the big one,

What the hell does the union have to do with this mis managed company???

Point the finger of blame were it belongs you idiot or get off this site!!!!!

management stole from you, took your pension, took your job and you still think the union caused this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once Dana goes bankrupt for good the UAW and the USW will still be there to pay your pension and help you. Will the company help you and if your answer is yes fool explain it to us all as clearly as we are not as smart as you( ha ha)

Do us all a favour and get your head out of your ass moron.

The only thing you are right about is that you should in fact thank your union rep as without him/her you would be on the street with nothing!

I want to thank brother /sister,for his and my own opinion of our union.
you are right,the management is behind all this.
our unions are proud of what we all have done. I am a active union committee person and i feel sorry for mad MR. H.........
HE NEEDS A LIFE,OUR BENEFITS WE FROUGHT FOR AND R SENORITY/VACATION /ETC.
WE NEEDED OUR UNION AND ALWAYS WILL.

You all want to sing praises to the Uaw well maybe you need to see how they are putting a screwn to all the retirees who paid them all the dues over the years, now they have to send the UAW about half thier pension checks to pay for thier health care. My father worked for Dana for 32 years and said he never got screwed by the company has bad as the UAW has screwed him now!!!!!

The company wanted to take your entire pension and this is fact whether you like it or not and refused to pay your health care benefits.

The reality is again that without the UAW and the USW you would be getting nothing. That means to pension no health care so even if you have to give up 30% ( what you have stated at 50% is not accurate) you still have health care and a pension.

If the company got what they wanted from the bankrupcy proceedings you would have nothing and we would not even be talking about it.

This is FACT!!!!!!!!! Botoom line!!!!!

The UAW has crushed the dreams and plans of all the Dana retirees. The workers had to vote in the blind on their contract the last time , not knowing what all was in there for them and at the same time how were the retirees being taken care of. Well the bomb has been dropped and almost 1/2 of their pension will now go to health care, along with the loss of life insurance and dental. For someone on social security the pensino amount was right at 900.00 per month. With the new health care cost this will drop below 500.00 per month. This is a far cry from the the great promise we were give at contract time every 3 years. This all came about as a well executed plan by the UAW during the last round of negoiations and for this very reason the active employees were not allowed to strike even though they voted to. This last contract was all about saving uaw DUES paying membership jobs. And like I have said so many times before, the money generated for the international union is all the national leadership is interested in. Many of our retirees will probably have to find employment just to offset this cost and this will only hurt the people needing a full time job. What avout a surviving spouse.? With their loss of the retirees part of the pension their benefit will be all but gone. The UAW sucks and the sooner IPS gets away from them the better. In the local paper the other day Ron Gettlefinger made it very clear; There will be no more concessions from Big Three auto workers. Well I say screw him and his so called tuff talk.

Hey Bap if you would read my post I said almost half not half so dont say i wasnt accurate and I am currently a dues paying member and I dont have much use for the Uaw either.

If you are paying dues then what is the issue here?????? Are you suggesting the management team at Dana will help you or has helped you or will help the retiree's of dana ??? If so explain to all of us how!

Here is what the company tried to do that you still have not commented on.

1. eliminate retiree health care
2. eliminate retiree pension and 401 K
3. Cut all wages to current work force and eliminate holidays.

be very clear when you answer so we can all understand your position.

This statement is flawed in to many ways to list.

You need to read the bankrupcy agreement and understand the company crushed your dreams did not the UAW or the USW.

The UAW salvaged whay they could and without them you would be faced with nothing and again this is fact not fiction.

if you further read the bankrupcy settlement it clearly states that the company will not held responsible if the workers strike. So the only one who wins in a strike position is the company as if production stops this allows them to continue to move more work off shore while 3rd party contracts are ignored.

Educating yourself on what really hapepened over the last 3 years is your first step.

No I am Not Management i am actually a small part of of the people that are actully active in my union. I am one who hears the union talk out of both sides of thier mouth. At a Ratificationg meeting we were told how tier 2 was the greatest thing in the world for the Uaw now i go to a confrence and the Leaders are telling u how bad tier 2 is they need to make up thier minds. The UAW has made thier own bad name in our plant by letting manegment walk all over the people So when people come on here and give thier opinions dont be so dense. The paper work my dad got said nothing about the company it was from the UAW so how would u feel if the people that were supposed to be protecting you screwed u ibet if it were one of the big three the UAW would have kicked in enough money to care of them. Like they always do
